Frank Lloyd Wright described architecture’s purpose aptly, “Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization.” Though Los Angeles is not always considered the mecca of iconic public architecture, I have found its unique homes and diverse neighborhoods give this city its own eclectic soul. From the great 1920s Spanish and Mediterranean estates in Hancock Park and Los Feliz to the architectural homes or bungalow cottages in Venice Beach – from the traditional mega estates in Beverly Hills to the ultra modern view homes overlooking the Sunset Strip; I am fortunate to have worked in all parts of this expansive city. In fact, rather than focus on a certain area, I follow my clients – entertainment executives, actors, writers, musicians, entrepreneurs, attorneys – and my clients crisscross Los Angeles’ most exclusive, diverse and up and coming neighborhoods.
My sales and strategy acumen began in an unlikely place; the US military. During the 1990s, I served as a newly minted Naval Intelligence Officer in Operation Desert Storm where I assembled vast quantities of information into a cohesive picture and presented this intelligence to wartime commanders. In essence, I sold “strategy and tactics.” During my subsequent tour at Naval Special Warfare Command, I interacted with civilian companies to help generate intelligence technology, which Navy SEALS could deploy with. Ultimately, I would “sell” my commanding officers on the validity of these essential programs to ensure the SEALS had the best shot at executing their missions.
In 2006, I put on a new type of uniform; suit and tie and thus began my real estate career. Working closely with Ernie Carswell, a distinguished veteran in Los Angeles’ luxury real estate market, I cut my teeth executing 30 plus transactions per year. This relationship blossomed into a very successful partnership and together we closed over $80MM of real estate transactions last year.
At the US Naval Academy, I honed skills including integrity, attention to detail and esprit de corps. As a naval officer, I built upon these skills in highly volatile environments and believed that anything was possible. And as your real estate agent, I will guide you through complex and at times, difficult transactions ensuring that you achieve the results you want.
In my spare time, I enjoy cross training, attending musicals of almost any kind, and a supremely chilled Hanger One martini – up with a couple of olives. In addition, I am also involved with veterans groups and support a variety of charities.
Wishing everyone fair winds and following seas in life and in their real estate endeavors.
